School News: Pine Tree, Spring Hill students perform with All-State Symphonic Band

Band members at Pine Tree and Spring Hill high schools recently performed with the 2026 Texas All-State Symphonic Band.

Logan Blondrage of Pine Tree and Sunny Kim of Spring Hill qualified for the band after a lengthy, competitive audition process that took place this school year, including district, region and area levels of competition.

This is Blondrage’s second time to perform as a member of a TMEA All-State organization. He and Kim play the clarinet.

High school students selected to perform in All-State concerts attain the highest honor a Texas music student can achieve, school officials said. The audition process begins with 60,000 students from around the state competing to join one of 18 ensembles. Ultimately, 1,830 students – the top 3% – are selected to participate.

Musicians who are selected attend four days of rehearsals during the TMEA Clinic/Convention before their concerts.

The All-State Symphonic Band performed Saturday at San Antonio’s Henry B. González Convention Center.
