Grapevine-Colleyville schools hire firm for superintendent search
Editor’s note: Transcript provided by CoverGov.
Grapevine-Colleyville ISD trustees at a special meeting on Feb. 3 named the Walsh Gallegos law firm to lead the search for the school district’s next superintendent.
District officials noted Walsh Gallegos has more than 40 years of school law practice and is legal counsel to about 500 Texas public school districts. The firm has offices in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma.
Walsh Gallegos is “uniquely familiar with the importance of a strong working relationship between the board and its superintendent,” according to a district statement.
Trustees will work with the firm to set a timeline for the selection of the next superintendent and develop a candidate profile. Walsh Gallegos will then accept applications.
Rick Demasters joined the district in December as interim superintendent. He has more than 30 years in Texas public schools.
Brad Schnautz resigned as superintendent in November to take another job at the Education Service Center Region 11. Schnautz led Grapevine-Colleyville ISD since 2023.
