Internet outages affecting Valley customers
Reports are trickling in of internet outages throughout the Rio Grande Valley, and it appears as though it may be a while before it’s restored.
MyRGV.com has received calls from residents in Harlingen, San Benito, Edinburg, McAllen and rural Palmview reporting outages.
Spectrum customers say the answering service confirmed that it’s experiencing an outage for its internet, video and phone services due to a damaged third party fiber optic cable, and indicated that technicians are working to resolve it.
The estimated time of services being restored is 9:30 p.m. There were already reports of restoration occurring sooner, however.
Vexus Fiber customers also reported similar experiences.
