WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — The Big Country chapter of the American Red Cross has named a new executive director.

Liberty-Grace Bland, a native of the Big Country, will step into the position that serves 38 counties and more than 777,000 people from Wichita Falls to Brownwood.

“Working for the American Red Cross has been a lifelong dream,” Bland said. “I’m honored to serve my home community and, together with our volunteers, partners and neighbors, help make it stronger and more resilient.”

Bland previously served as the Executive Director of the Abilene Philharmonic Association and the Assistant Director of the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health.

In her new position, Bland will oversee programs that teach lifesaving skills, support military members and their families, and work with local partners to strengthen communities.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Liberty-Grace to the North Texas leadership team,” Linda Braddy, regional CEO, said. “Her passion for people and her vision for community impact align perfectly with the Red Cross mission. We look forward to the great work she’ll lead in the Big Country.”

The main office of the Big Country chapter of the American Red Cross is located at 1809 5th St. in Wichita Falls.
