Smith County Precinct 2 judge Andy Dunklin running for reelection in 2026
SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KETK) – Judge Andy Dunklin has announced that he’s running to be reelected as Smith County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace in 2026.
Dunklin will officially kick off his campaign for the March 2026 Republican Primary at The Place on Main at Solon Douglas & Co. in Bullard on Tuesday. The event starts at 9 a.m. and guests will get to speak directly with Dunklin.
“As your judge in Precinct 2, I have made a reputation for being a fair jurist,” said Judge Dunklin. “Our court is the busiest lawsuit-filing justice court in our county. To continue the momentum my staff and I have built over the past 7 years, this election is important.”
As Justice of the Peace for Precinct 2, Dunklin’s court hears small claims cases, debt claims, eviction cases and repair and remedy cases. Dunklin was first sworn into the role in 2019 after he served as a Smith County constable for 10 years.
He’s also served as a county jailer, city police officer, state trooper, state drug enforcement agent, Cub Scout leader, football referee and as a Little League Baseball coach.
