LA man made ‘bullet to her head’ threat against Hidalgo County judge

A 39-year-old Los Angeles man posted “Somebody kill her” and “bullet to her head” in threats against a judge presiding over a civil suit he filed following a fall from a balcony on South Padre Island.
Gerardo Zepeda III was arrested on charges of harassment and terroristic threat against a peace officer or judge in Chicago on Oct. 30.
Zepeda is accused of making the threats against state District Judge Nereida Singleterry.
The probable cause affidavit for his arrest said that the threats were reported on Oct. 26 following a recent hearing in the case.
Following that hearing, the affidavit said Zepeda sent Singleterry messages containing vulgar language while threatening he would “destroy her.”
“Gilberto posted ‘Somebody kill her,’ ’bullet to her head’ amongst other threats,” the affidavit stated.
That document said Zepeda used multiple social media platforms to share and comment in a manner that placed the judge in fear of death and “imminent serious bodily injury.”
“Gilberto’s messages stated he would use mutual acquaintances and public platforms to ‘expose’ her,” the affidavit stated. “Gilberto’s messages stated she was a ‘b——.’”
He remains held in the Hidalgo County Adult Detention Center on a total of $150,000 in bonds.
