Jackknifed 18-wheeler causes severe backup on I-20
KILGORE, Texas (KETK) — Traffic came to a standstill on Interstate 20 after an 18-wheeler jackknifed, blocking multiple lanes and causing major backups.
The semi-truck leaked fuel, which led to a hazmat spill, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Adam Albritton. DPS is now re-routing traffic onto State Highway 135 as they attempt to clean up the aftermath of the crash.
Officials are unsure if the severe weather played a role in the accident.
There have also been a number of other crashes near 584, travelling both east and westbound, however no known injuries have been reported.
