LAWTON, Okla. (KFDX/KJTL) — The McMahon Foundation will soon be under new leadership as a longstanding member plans to step down.
After 40 years of service, Executive Director Dana Parrish will be retiring. A retirement reception will be held on Thursday, October 24.
Parrish began at the Foundation in 1985 as an assistant to then-director Jim Wood. She rose through the ranks and was named executive director in 2011.
She has used her time to continue the legacy of founders Louise and Eugene McMahon by guiding the Foundation’s growth in education, health, the arts, and community development.
After 40 years and countless projects, one remains her personal favorite: the Hearts That Care Free Medical Clinic.
“It provides such an important service to our community, and it truly reflects the defining principles of the Foundation,” Parrish said.
Her legacy shows in the numerous grants awarded under Parrish’s leadership, but also in the partnerships she has created and maintained across the region.
“It’s never been just a job,” Parrish said. “It’s been my calling to serve this community.”
