Cooler’N Hell gravel race: New cycling event in Wichita Falls
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — If the Hotter’N Hell Hundred is just too hot for you, then you get to cool down with a new race.
The Cooler’N Hell Gravel race is the newest cycling event to test your grit without melting in the summer heat.
Riders get to choose what challenge to take on:
- 100-Mile Race
- 50-Mile Race
- 27-Mile Casual Ride
Winners in the 100 and 50-mile courses will get a payout from a $10,000 cash purse. The top five in the 100-mile and top three in the 50-mile will get part of that cash purse.
Riders will have to tackle rough roads, see beautiful big skies and refuel at rest stops along the way — with a celebration at the end with live music, food and local vendors.
Those looking for a hotel room can also reserve at the Delta Hotel in Wichita Falls at the special rate of $149 before September 15th.
The ride will be on Saturday, October 25, at 8:30 a.m., with all routes starting and ending at the Delta Hotel, 306 Travis St. Registration starts at $55 for the casual ride and $65 for the 50 and 100-mile rides.
