Lufkins former jail set for demolition, traffic to be impacted
LUFKIN, Texas (KETK)– Traffic could be impacted in Lufkin next week due to the upcoming demolition of the former Angelina County Jail located on 113 North Second Street.
According to the City of Lufkin, demolition is scheduled to begin on Sept. 8 and is expected to be completed within 30 days. Due to the upcoming demolition, the alleyway on the south side of the former jail will be closed to traffic and pedestrians.
The city states that the closure will last at least three weeks, and the demolition is expected to be completed by next month.
