City of Gilmer issues boil water notice for certain areas

GILMER, Texas (KETK)– A boil water notice has been issued for the City of Gilmer due to a loss in water pressure on Friday.

Areas impacted include:

  • Buffalo Street from Rea Road to North Montgomery
  • North Bledsole from West Tyler to West Scott
  • North Montgomery from West Tyler to West Scott
  • South Trinity from West Tyler to West Harrison
  • West Harrison from South Trinity to South Bradford
  • West Kaufman from South Trinity to South Bradford
  • West Butler from South Bradford to South Montgomery
  • Polk Street from West Tyler to Warren
  • South Montgomery from West Tyler to Warren
  • Warren between Polk and South Montgomery

People are asked to boil their water before consumption, such as brushing their teeth or washing their hands. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

“Once the boil water notice is no longer in effect, the public water system will issue a notice to customers that rescinds the boil water notice in a manner similar to this notice,” the City of Gilmer said.
