PETS Clinic joins Texoma Gives, celebrates 100,000 surgeries
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — PETS Clinic will join in the tenth and final Texoma Gives as it celebrates more than 100,000 spay and neuter surgeries since opening its doors.
PETS Clinic is a nonprofit veterinary clinic founded in 2007 that provides affordable spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines, wellness visits, sick and injured care, and emergency services to families and rescues. It has worked to reduce pet overpopulation, keep pets in loving homes, and support local shelters and rescues.
Donations raised through Texoma Gives directly support programs that reduce shelter overcrowding and make veterinary care accessible for families and rescues across Texoma.
While Texas remains second out of the 50 states for animal euthanasia, PETS continues to work to change that reality. Shelter intake in Wichita Falls dropped from more than 10,000 animals each year to just 1,625, and euthanasia rates have dropped from 90% to 34%.
As the demand for veterinary services continues to rise, Anibal Guevar, Executive Director of PETS, said the ability to afford care often determines whether a pet stays healthy and at home, or faces suffering and surrender.
“Affordable veterinary care isn’t a luxury—it’s a lifeline,” said Anibal Guevara, Executive Director of PETS Clinic in Wichita Falls. “Even families making $50,000 a year struggle with costs. When care is out of reach, pets suffer or end up in shelters. Donor support ensures those pets get the help they need.”
Donors and community support have fueled every PETS Clinic program, every surgery, and every success.
Early giving for Texoma Gives began Thursday, August 21, with the big day being September 4. Visit Texoma Gives online to donate.
