ETBU’s B.H. Carroll Seminary offers new PhD scholarship for 2026

MARSHALL, Texas (KETK)– After receiving a generous gift from a donor, the B. H. Carroll Theological Seminary at East Texas Baptist University (ETBU) will be providing five full, first-year scholarships to students pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy starting in spring 2026.

Students interested in the scholarship must complete an application and submit writing samples to the Doctoral Programs Committee. Prospective students also must meet all entrance requirements.

The B. H. Carroll’s PhD program is accredited by both the Association of Theological Schools and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The program also provides disciplinary and interdisciplinary seminars that offer the opportunity for peer-to-peer critique and can be completed online.

They currently offer PhD programs in Faith and Heritage with specializations in Church History, Theology, Ethics and Philosophy, Ministry and Formation with specializations in Chaplaincy, Christian Education, Leadership, Pastoral Ministry, Counseling and Spiritual Formation, and Scripture and Witness with specializations in Old Testament, New Testament, Biblical Languages, Preaching and Hermeneutics and Missions.

Applications for program admission are now open. For more information about the online PhD program at B. H. Carroll or to apply, visit www.ETBU.edu/PHD.
