Tyler Junior College Apache Belles announce new members, officers for 78th year

TYLER, Texas (KETK)– The Tyler Junior College Apache Belles kicked off its 78th year on Friday during their annual formal announcements and high-kick performance.

During this event, the Apache Belles formally introduced its team roster and officers for 2025-2026, including 10 members from East Texas:

Sophomores and members of the 78th Line:

Not only were the newest Apache Belles introduced, but also the live announcement of officers of the 78th line and the debut of this year’s high-kick routine. Freshmen also received their official Apache Belle necklaces, which are a memento of their time on the line.

  • Dance Captain: Katie Hinch, White Oak
  • Dance Captain: Reese Phillips, Frisco
  • Dance Captain: Valerie Hahn, Sealy
  • Dance Captain: Delayna Deer, Midlothian

The Apache Belles are under the direction of Happi Deason Byrne, while the interim artistic director and choreographer is Lily Capetillo, and Bridget Cost is a specialist. All three women are former Apache Belles.

“Formal Announcements mark the official beginning of our year, and it’s the team’s first public performance of the season,” Byrne said. “For the sophomores, it is their time to step into their role as new leaders of the team; and for our freshmen, it marks the ceremonial beginning of their journey as an Apache Belle.”
