Wichita Falls man arrested after alleged car theft and police chase
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — A Wichita Falls man, who was driving a car reportedly stolen out of South Carolina, was arrested and jailed after a late-night chase with county law enforcement.
On Saturday, August 2, 2025, around 12:15 a.m., a deputy with the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office learned of a stolen silver Mitsubishi Mirage with South Carolina license plates in the area of Airport Road and Central Freeway access road.
While searching the area, the deputy said he saw a car matching the description turn onto Mansur Drive, speed up and head into the parking lot on the west side of the Super 8 motel.
When the deputy attempted a traffic stop, he said the driver took off eastbound out of the parking lot, almost hitting two pedestrians.
During a chase that led authorities to Loop 11, the deputy said the driver was all over the roadway, slowing down and speeding up.
The deputy said the driver then slowed down enough to jump out of the car and take off running eastbound toward the rear of Kirby Junior High.
A foot chase ensued and the driver was tased after the deputy said he refused to stop.
Dispatch confirmed the vehicle was stolen out of Lancaster County, South Carolina.
Timothy Carmona was charged with evading arrest, evading arrest with a vehicle, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
In addition to those charges, he also had two warrants for possession.
Carmona is still in jail on bonds totaling $38,500.
