Orioles’ Grayson Rodriguez sidelined for season with elbow injury

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KETK) — The Baltimore Orioles announced on Monday that pitcher Grayson Rodriguez will be sidelined for the remainder of the MLB season due to an ongoing elbow injury and will be undergoing surgery.

Rodriguez has missed the entire 2025 regular season so far after he was placed on the injury list during spring training after experiencing discomfort in his elbow. He was initially expected to return to the rotation in mid-July, but the team announced on Monday that he will miss the remainder of the season and will undergo surgery on his right elbow.

Throughout his three years in the MLB, Rodriguez, 25, has been forced to miss significant time due to multiple injuries and has only been available to pitch in 43 games. While his career has been short-lived so far, he has put up impressive numbers throughout his career, finishing his 2024 campaign with a 13-4 record and 3.86 ERA through 20 games.

Before being drafted by the Orioles, Rodriguez helped Central Heights in Nacogdoches claim the 3A state title in 2017 during his junior year and was drafted by Baltimore in 2018 following his high school career.
