Liberty Burger in Dallas launches tour to honor burger culture
DALLAS (KDAF) — Dallas-based burger chain Liberty Burger is launching a six-month “Crave Across America” tour starting August 1, featuring six specialty burgers inspired by iconic regions of the United States.
The tour will showcase a new limited-edition burger each month through January 2026, celebrating the creativity and cultural significance of the American burger.
“As we approach Liberty Burger’s 15th anniversary in 2026, we wanted to take a look back at where we came from as a brand, as a family, and how the burger became, and remains, an American staple,” said Mariel Street, co-founder of Liberty Burger.
The celebration kicks off with The Great Smash, inspired by the Oklahoma fried onion burger, created during the Great Depression when beef was scarce and onions were abundant.
The Great Smash features onions three ways: vidalia onions smashed into Liberty Burger’s custom beef blend patty, crispy fried tobacco onions, and a creamy caramelized onion sauce, plus housemade spiced pickles and American cheese on Martin’s Potato Roll.
While the road trip’s monthly stops are a surprise, the final stop back in Texas honors Liberty Burger’s Texas roots with locally sourced ingredients like hydroponic greens, heirloom tomatoes, artisan cheddar, and buns from Dallas’ Signature Baking Company.
Guests can collect virtual stamps for each burger they try by scanning a QR code on a postcard delivered with their meal, both to-go and in restaurants.
Fans who sample all six offerings can win gift cards, merchandise, and more, or share their experience on social media for additional prizes.
