Master car control at Eagles Canyon Raceway’s skid pad
DECATUR, TX (KDAF) – Have you ever felt your car try to slide out from you while you’re driving? Being able to recover from that is all about car control and understanding how to maneuver.
Eagles Canyon Raceway has the largest uninterrupted skid pad with varying levels of grip. There’s an area that is completely polished so that you can get the car to slide at a very low speed. This area will help you feel what the car is doing when you understeer or oversteer. Instructors can help guide you through getting the car into those situations and make sure you know how to get out of them. Once you can control that, it’s very useful in driving on track.
