WICHITA COUNTY (KFDX/KJTL) — A South Texas man who’s been arrested and convicted of multiple felonies, including a previous conviction for Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon in 2017, is now jailed in the Wichita County Law Enforcement Center for an alleged assault.
On July 24, 2025, just before 8:30 a.m., Burkburnett police were sent to the 200 block of County Road in Burkburnett for an assault report.
When they arrived, the male victim said at 4:30 a.m., he and a female friend were at In Burkburnett when the woman got a Facebook message from Jaimes Nerf, saying there was an emergency he needed to talk to her about.
The woman asked Nerf if he could meet her, and when she arrived, Nerf allegedly jumped out and scared her, which caused her to fall down some stairs and scrape her arm.
Police said Nerf wanted the woman to go back to his house in the 400 block of College Street alone, but she said she didn’t feel comfortable going alone, and the male victim didn’t want her to go alone because of an alleged previous incident that had taken place between the woman and Nerf.
Officers said that’s when Nerf allegedly hit the victim across the face with large knife, cutting the victim’s left cheek and leaving a knot on his face.
The victim told police he attempted to defend himself by grabbing Nerf, who then hit him on the back of the head with a large “tattoo box,” which caused a cut on the victim’s head.
Police said the victim and his female friend got away and called police to report the incident.
Authorities said the woman corroborated the male victim’s statements and said he didn’t touch Nerf until after Nerf hit him with the knife.
When officers went to Nerf’s home, they said he admitted to hitting the victim in the face with the knife, as well as hitting the victim on the head with his “tattoo box.”
Police said Nerf showed them the knife he used and admitted he hit the victim hard enough to break the knife, which caused the blade to break off from the handle.
During a search of Nerf, officers said they found a brown powder substance that tested posted for methamphetamine, weighing three grams.
Jaimes Nerf is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession by the Burkburnett Police Department, as well as a parole violation from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
His bonds total $125,000, but he’s being held without bond for the parole violation.
