WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — A Wichita Falls mother has been arrested and charged after a traffic stop led to a search warrant.
Lashauntra Jones was detained after a traffic stop in which she told officers her two young children were home alone.
After obtaining a search arrest warrant, officers entered the home to find the 12 and 5-year-old children alone.
According to police documents, while searching the home, officers found roughly seven grams of a crystal-like substance that tested positive for methamphetamine and a loaded .22 pistol.
Jones told police in a post-Miranda interview that she would be a middleman and deal with a supplier and then take other subjects to the supplier for methamphetamine in exchange for money for the “referral.”
Jones was arrested and charged with two counts of abandoning or endangering a child and one count of manufacturing or delivering a substance in penalty group 1 over four grams, but under 200 grams.
She is being held in the Wichita County Jail on bonds totalling $150,000.
