Wichita Falls man arrested for assaulting pregnant partner
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Wichita Falls police arrested a man after they said there was a domestic altercation with his pregnant girlfriend.
Devin Deon Capri Lewis was arrested and charged with Assault – Family Violence of a pregnant person on June 25 after Wichita Falls police officers were dispatched to a home in the 4700 block of Hollandale Avenue.
According to police documents, the victim said she was assaulted by her boyfriend, whom she identified as Lewis. She said she and Lewis had been dating for two years, and she is pregnant with his second child.
The victim alleged that Lewis was drinking alcohol and he has violent tendencies when he does so. The altercation began when Lewis wanted to go get food instead of eating at home, but the victim said they did not have the money and she did not want Lewis driving since he had been drinking.
Police documents said Lewis then threw grapes and other foods at the victim and poured a drink on her head before throwing a large, full fruit tray at her head, which the victim claimed hurt when it hit her.
Cereal and fruit were observed by officers scattered across the floor, as well as a white substance resembling fruit cream cheese dip covered the victim and spread to the couch and living room floor.
Lewis refused to tell officers anything on the scene and would not answer any questions.
After being informed that he would be arrested, Lewis responded, “Okay, I’ll be out tomorrow.”
As of publication, Lewis is being held in the Wichita County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
