Jarvis Christian University elects first woman chair
HAWKINS, Texas (KETK) — For the first time in Jarvis Christian University‘s 113 year history, a woman was elected as chair of the board of trustees.
Leketia Lenett Blair has served as a member of the university’s board for the last 16 years while participating in several university committees such as student affairs, finance, audit and academic affairs.
Her professional career includes overseeing over 60 office locations for Comerica Bank giving her vast experience in governance and finance.
Blair will serve the board along side the university’s current President and CEO, Dr. Glenell M. Lee Pruitt, bringing more strong leadership into the board.
“Mrs. Blair embodies the spirit of servant leadership,” Dr. Lee Pruitt said. “Her longstanding dedication to Jarvis Christian University, paired with her professional expertise and unwavering faith, make her an ideal leader at this pivotal moment in our institutional journey.”
