A jury on Monday sentenced a 29-year-old man to a decade in prison for a fatal shooting at a residence on the outskirts of Los Fresnos.

Normando Uribe has been on trial since June 16 and was convicted of murder and sentenced Monday, court records show.

He shot and killed Jose Angel Bravo, 41, on Oct. 5, 2022.

Uribe was later arrested after he initially ran from authorities when he was spotted in the Green Valley Farms area.

The Cameron County Sheriff’s Office said at the time that Bravo was found lying face down in the driveway of the home outside Los Fresnos with gunshot wounds.

Uribe has remained jailed in the Cameron County Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center on a $1 million bond since Oct. 5, 2022.
