Arlington ISD enhances student experience with arts learning
ARLINGTON, Texas (KDAF) — Arlington ISD offers programs, internships, and integration of the arts to expand students’ abilities to think, reason, and communicate.
“We’re all about the student experience,” said Dr. Matt Smith, Superintendent for Arlington ISD. “We actually believe that the community is our classroom, we actually have students going out into the community to learn.”
Smith said that on a regular basis, they bring professionals into school to help coach the students. The school district also offers programming and internships, offering student multiple opportunities to find their path and passion. The arts are also integrated throughout the curriculum.
“We actually believe that by exposing our students to the arts, it expands their ability to think, reason, and communicate with others,” Smith said. “We are so excited and fortunate to be able to offer these opportunities.”
Dr. Christopher Anderson, Director of Fine Arts for Arlington ISD, also shared about the national awards, honors and recognitions that the school district has received for their programs.
