Happy Thursday,Growing up in a Mexican American household, I can’t recall a time when the music of Juan Gabriel and Jenni Rivera weren’t blasting through speakers. As a child, I resented the music. Maybe that was just me trying to be rebellious? Now that I’m an adult, I have the Latin American icons playing on repeat. If you’re anything like me and have a deep appreciation for these artists, you’ll have a chance to honor their legacies when the Sonidos del Summer concert series kicks off its “Verano Eterno” event at Marine Park in Fort Worth’s Northside May 10.The free family-friendly concert will feature powerful musical tributes, community vendors and local food trucks. Bring your picnic blankets, lawn chairs and snacks for the whole crew.Sonidos del Summer will return with two more concerts July 5 and Sept. 13.Dance your heart out to Latin American musical tributes

If you arrive early, you’ll be able to catch a 90-minute vinyl sonidero set featuring cumbias and pop music to set the mood. No alcohol or glass containers allowed.
