WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — The Wichita County Sheriff’s Office will be able to continue getting different equipment after another successful golf tournament.
The four-person scramble started at 1 p.m. this afternoon, with several alumni taking to the course, hoping to hit the $10,000 hole-in-one shot.
Golfers were treated to lunch as well as the chance to bid during the silent auction.
Public Information Officer for the sheriff’s office, Melvin Joyner, says that hosting this tournament has made several things possible within the office, including acquiring new equipment vital to investigations and other legal matters.
“Currently, they’re using these funds to buy equipment that we can’t get budgeted. I know they recently bought a new drone for the sheriff’s office. They bought other equipment that we needed around the office, and it’s just a great organization that helps and supports us. Throughout the year.”
The dinner starts at 6 p.m., at which time the winners of first, second, and third place will be announced.
