WINNSBORO, Texas (KETK) – Winnsboro police chief has announced he will be leaving the department to pursue new opportunities and has endorsed his successor.
The City of Winnsboro released a statement on Tuesday that Chief Ryan Brown would be departing from the Winnsboro Police Department. Brown will be accepting a new position within law enforcement, allowing him to spend more time with his family.
Brown emphasized the gratitude that he feels from his time serving the Winnsboro community:
“My time serving the City of Winnsboro has been a deeply rewarding experience. I am incredibly grateful for the support of the city administration and the wonderful people of this community,” Brown said.
Brown also endorsed Assistant Chief Mayer, who will be his successor.
“Assistant Chief Maye has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication and a deep understanding of our community’s needs,” Brown said. “I have full confidence in his ability to lead the Winnsboro Police Department going forward.”
Brown will remain in his current position until the end of June and is committed to ensuring a smooth transition between him and Mayer. The City of Winnsboro said more details regarding the appointment of the next police chief will be released in May at the city council meeting.
