Trinity County community invited to give local pets forever homes
TRINITY COUNTY, Texas (KETK)– The SPCA of Polk County and Trinity County Crime Stoppers (TCCS) are cohosting the very first Animal Mayday: Save-A-Pet Event and Fish Fry at the Trinity Community Center to encourage community members to find a new furry friend.
The SPCA of Polk County is a “no kill” shelter in East Texas and they’ll have multiple dogs and puppies available for guests to adopt at the event on May 10. The adoption fee will be $20, which includes microchipping and the first round of vaccines.
Veterinarians will be present at the event to meet and greet the public. Various vendors will also be in attendance selling pet supplies, gift baskets and cups, a blind date with a book, cutting boards, key chains, different straw toppers, sourdough starter kits, jewelry, tumblers, t-shirts and more. Guests can also partake in a bake sale or buy some freeze dried candy.
Along with sweets, a fish fry will provide lunch to attendees complete with fried fish and other sides.
All proceeds made from the adoption event, vendors and bake sale will be donated to TCCS’s Animal Abuse Fund.
The event will take place May 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 640 S. Robb Street in Trinity.
