DALLAS (KDAF) — Reunion Tower is celebrated for its iconic light shows that brighten the Dallas skyline. However, at certain times of the year, the Tower goes dark for a different reason — the Texas Conservation Alliance initiative for the Spring Bird Migration.
From April 14 through May 18, Reunion Tower will adjust its brightness as follows:
Each spring and fall, nearly two billion birds pass through Texas, making it one of the largest bird migrations in the world. This journey occurs primarily at night, and bright lights can attract migrating birds, making them susceptible to building collisions and disorientation. By lowering its lights, Reunion Tower will do its part again to protect the birds and allow them safe passage.
