BURKBURNETT (KFDX/KJTL) — Charles David Collins was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of 14.
According to his arrest warrant, in late March, Burkburnett police responded to Permian Park for a sexual assault report. The 12-year-old victim told the officers she was being sexually assaulted.
During a forensic interview, the victim identified Collins as the suspect and said the assaults happened in her room when nobody else was around. The victim also said Collins would show her pornography on his phone and told her not to tell because he could go to jail for a long time.
During a police interview, Collins denied touching the victim. The investigators noted his response appeared to be insincere and rehearsed. A search of Collins’ phone found sexually explicit websites and interactive artificial intelligence-based pornography. A warrant was issued, and he was arrested on Friday, April 4.
His bond is set at $150,000.
