Habitat for Humanity dedicates new home in central Wichita Falls
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL)— A new home in central Wichita Falls is ready for a new family thanks to Habitat for Humanity.
The home is the third of three new homes along Britain St. It was completed and dedicated in honor of its new family on Saturday morning. Just like the houses built before it the home will provide its new family with new cabinetry, plumbing and plenty of room to grow.
Executive director Will Goodner said helping the family isn’t the only benefit of the new home. Moving the family in can help the city revitalize the neighborhood around the home too.
“Maybe neighbors, you know, get involved and say, hey, you know what? Maybe it’s about time that I go ahead and throw on a new coat of paint, you know?” Goodner said. “And just maybe other people that are in need of housing see these new houses and think, well if they can do it, I can do it.”
As part of the dedication family and friends of the new homeowners received a tour and the family got some early housewarming gifts before their move-in. Goodner hopes the home is the perfect place for the family to grow over the years.
