Goodwill Industries of East Texas merges with East Texas Human Needs Network

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – Two East Texas nonprofits, the East Texas Human Needs Network (ETHNN) and the Goodwill Industries of East Texas, have merged to combine resources.

Both of these nonprofit organizations serve the public, connecting people with resources and raising awareness. Many Goodwill stores have onsite staffing agencies, provide job training opportunities and connections with programs that assist the public with many different needs.

This merger will not change how the nonprofits will operate.

“Goodwill will continue to foster the collaborative efforts that fuel collective action in the areas of education, employment, behavioral health, healthcare, housing, transportation and economic well being,” Kimberly Lewis, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of East Texas, said.

The network researches and connects people with programs. The results are shared publicly to raise awareness on poverty, providing an in-depth look into the public’s needs.

“I am proud of the work done by the East Texas Human Needs Network,” ETHNN board chair Jesi Mackenzie said. “I am confident this merger will empower ETHNN to continue effectively identifying and addressing community needs through strong partnerships with our community organizations. Through collective action we will continue to build a community where everyone can live well.”
