McAllen home to first US location of Mexican steakhouse
A restaurant known for its authentic Sonoran cuisine and premium steaks has opened its first American location in McAllen.
Palominos, which has been a staple in Sonora since Don César Pavlovich Sugich founded the first location in 1974, is located at 4117 W. Expressway 83.
With more than 50 years of culinary expertise, Palominos is recognized as one of the best steakhouses in Mexico, which has 11 locations throughout the country.
“We strive to offer premium retail spaces that cater to diverse businesses like Palominos,” Susie Torres, Killam Development Leasing Manager for the Rio Grande Valley, said in the news release. “Our properties are strategically located to maximize visibility and attract high foot traffic, making them ideal for ventures that enrich the community.”
Now open for lunch and dinner, Palominos offers a menu that showcases the flavors of Sonora from its signature steaks to carne asada, among other traditional dishes.
The release stated visitors can expect an authentic experience that celebrates the culinary traditions of Northern Mexico.
“The addition of Palominos not only enhances our retail offerings but also supports job creation and economic growth in the region,” Torres said in the release.
