In an email to BCIC supporters, Amaro said the StartUp Texas Innovation Competition provides an opportunity to discover the most innovative startups emerging in South Texas.

He said it also provides an opportunity to learn about the StartUp, pointing out that it empowers small businesses and researchers to tap into government funds, create prototypes, and turn ideas into real world solutions.

“The StartUp Texas Innovation Competition will feature local entrepreneurs who’ve spent 10 weeks training and receiving mentorship. They’ll take the stage to pitch for $70,000 in seed funding. These entrepreneurs are shaping the future of Brownsville, and I couldn’t be more excited to watch it all unfold.

“So here’s the thing: if you resonate, even if it is just a little, with our special passion or our mission to build equitable initiatives and support the growth of our community, I’d love to see you at StartUp Texas tomorrow.

“Come network with us, enjoy some food and drinks, and cheer on the entrepreneurs pitching their hearts out on stage.

“Best case? You’ll learn what it takes to join the next cohort, find your tribe, and get to know your community better. Worst case? You’ll have a great time with a live DJ and delicious food and drinks from local entrepreneurs who’ve been part of StartUp Texas before.

“It’s going to be an inspiring evening, and I really hope to see you there.”

Amaro added that it is best to RSVP. Click here to do so.
