Hamer: SpaceX could just be the most important company in the Galaxy
BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Activity at SpaceX was front and center during a panel discussion that took place at a luncheon event hosted by Brownsville Chamber of Commerce on Aug. 27.
The event, held at the Brownsville Events Center, was titled: “Bridging Borders & Beyond – The Impact of US-Mexico Relations and Space Exploration in the Rio Grande Valley.”
The moderator was Glenn Hamer, president and CEO of the Texas Association of Business. The panelists were Norman Roy Garza, Jr., executive director of Texas Space Commission, Helen Ramirez, city manager of Brownsville., Judith Arrieta Mungia, Mexico’s Consul in Brownsville, and Kathryn Lueders, general manager of SpaceX’s Starbase facility at Boca Chica.
During the conversation, Hamer said: “You can make a very strong argument that SpaceX isn’t only the most important company in the United States. Maybe (it is) the most important company in the galaxy.”
