Grammy-nominated singer Leon Bridges will be “Coming Home” for his debut at Dickies Arena in support of his new album “Leon.”

The title of the track that launched Bridges’ career is apt for the singer, who said this album is his most personal work yet.“I can’t wait to share the album with y’all on 10/4,” the singer wrote in an Instagram post. “It’s been a long time coming. It comes from simpler days — from my memories of growing up in Fort Worth. It comes from my childhood. I’ve been working on it for years.”

“The Leon Tour” kicks off Oct. 4 at the Austin City Limits Music Festival and ends Nov. 15 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. In addition to opener Hermanos Gutiérrez, the final show will feature special guest Charley Crockett, a country and blues musician whose recent album “Visions of Dallas” also focuses on his North Texas past. The 14,000-capacity arena is exponentially larger than the small venues where Bridges got his start, such as Shipping & Receiving, which has since been reincarnated as Distribution Bar in the Near Southside. As Bridges’ profile continued to grow and receive international acclaim, he maintained strong roots within his hometown. The singer partnered with the former Texas Christian University football coach, Gary Patterson, to launch a charity called The Big Good, and Bridges has also helped promote other musicians from Funkytown, like Abraham Alexander. In videos teasing his new work, Bridges described the song “Panther City,” as his love letter to Fort Worth. Fans who sign up on Bridges’ website can purchase presale tickets for his hometown show Aug. 20. Sales to the general public will open Aug. 23.
