Basketball great and sports commentator Shaquille O’Neal will take center stage in Fort Worth Nov. 16 as his musical alter ego DJ Diesel.Shaq’s Bass All-Stars, a bass music festival created by the NBA Hall of Famer, will return to Panther Island Pavilion with a lineup curated by the legend himself.O’Neal first fell in love with electronic dance music after attending TomorrowWorld in 2014, according to festival organizers, who describe the experience as “a milestone event that changed his life forever after being exposed to DJs such as Steve Aoki and Skrillex.”The one-day festival boasts two stages and 17 artists, including Dirt Monkey, Dion Timmer and DJ Diesel himself.Fort Worth hosted the inaugural festival in 2023 and drew in 15,000 fans, according to a festival press release. The festival’s debut came on the heels of noise complaints from residents during the Ubbi Dubbi Festival last year.In response, the Tarrant Regional Water District, which owns and operates Panther Island Pavilion, implemented a midnight cutoff for weekend events, operated a hotline residents could call and deployed a team to monitor noise levels in surrounding areas.Tickets start at $59.99. The presale will begin at 10 a.m. Aug. 16.
