“Many individuals may be daunted by the thought of graduate school,” said Michael Mathis, dean of the College of Graduate Studies at Tarleton State University. “These programs have flexible times, arrangements, and students can take advantage of having a work-life balance and fitting the curriculum into their busy lifestyles.”
Classes at the university are held at different times including evening, weekend and virtual options.
At the open house, there will be a faculty panel and a chance to meet with graduate program representatives. Application fees will be waived for people who attend the open house and apply within a week of the event.
Tarleton State Fort Worth offers a variety of master’s-level programs, including accounting, business administration, clinical mental health counseling, communication studies, counseling, criminal justice, curriculum and instruction, educational administration, medical laboratory services, nursing administration, nursing education, psychology, public administration and social work.
The university also offers a doctor of education (Ed.D.) program in educational leadership and a doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) program in criminal justice.
“We have a lot of nontraditional students who are working 40 hours a week and then coming to class in the evening,” Beck Munsey, a faculty member and department chair of the counseling department, previously told the Report. “It’s really neat to see the blending of that, where you have students with lots of work experience and life experience and then others that are really young. They kind of naturally mentor each other.”
