
Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center to honor moms at Center Table Mother’s Day food distribution event

(Special to The Dallas Examiner) – Celebrating moms, bonus moms and mom figures, the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center will host a Center Table Mother’s Day mobile food pantry event on May 7 from 9-11 a.m. at the center located on 1800 Bonnie View Road.
As a thank you to all the hard-working mothers, bonus moms and mom figures juggling work, kids, home life and more, the purpose of the giveaway is to make sure these everyday heroes feel the love this Mother’s Day.

Free and open to the public, the event will provide food boxes for more than 500 families on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees can expect entertainment such as a live performance by Ollimpaxqui Ballet Co., swag bags and more. Five hundred flowers, arranged by Skyline High School students and funded by the Dallas Black Firefighters Association, will be gifted to moms.
In addition, 41 lucky moms will be honored with special gift packages, which will include a head-to-toe salon takeover experience complete with a new outfit and photo shoot thanks to NU Standard and Meke The Salon at Southside on Lamar. The packages will also comprise of gift cards to Pappas Bros. and Nebraska Furniture Mart; basketball swag; and a Grandscape family-fun experience with lunch. In partnership with the North Texas Food Bank and the city of Dallas, the drive-up event is presented by The Mark Cuban Foundation, The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation and The Heroes Foundation. Other partners include the Dallas Black Firefighters Association, Nebraska Furniture Mart and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
With inflation and the economic climate continuing to take its toll on families, the need for food assistance remains high. Center Table launched in May 2020 to address the tough times many families have faced since the onset of the pandemic. Since then, Center Table events have provided more than 30,500 meals to families and households.
Dads will not be left out of the mix! Father figures will get spoiled as well when the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center hosts its annual Father’s Day event at Concord Church on Sunday, June 16.
