
Early voting results show front-runners in North Richland Hills, Richland Hills, Saginaw, Watauga, Westworth Village

The polls are closed and results are being tallied in several races for mayor and city council positions across Tarrant County.Here’s where the races stand after early and absentee voting: North Richland HillsMayor: City Council member Tito Rodriguez is leading against challenger Jack McCarty, a retired CPA and chief operating officer of operations for United Healthcare. McCarty has 63% of the vote with just under 6,000 ballots counted. City Council Place 2: Realtor and insurance agent Ricky Rodriguez is leading against incumbent Rita Wright Oujesky, vice president of investments at Raymond James & Associates. Rodriguez is ahead with 56% of the vote so far.
City Council Place 4: Tracy Bennett, a consulting actuary, is competing against Matt Blake, a DJ, and Jeff Arwine, a senior simulator training support analyst at Bell Helicopter Textron. Incumbent Mason Orr, who has held the seat since 2019, is not running for reelection. Arwine and Blake are neck and neck with about 40% each, and Bennett trails with about 20%.City Council Place 6: Brianne Goetz, who works in the Best Maid Products Inc. accounting department, faces Sean Nutt, a cloud support engineer for Amazon Web Services, and Russ Mitchell, who owns an insurance agency. Mitchell leads with 54% followed by Goetz with 40% and Nutt at 5%. Incumbent Scott Turnage, who has served on council on and off since 2006, is not seeking reelection.Richland Hills
Mayor: Retiree Curtis Bergthold is running against bookkeeper Joyce Fiaccone and account executive Wyatt Smith. Incumbent Edward Lopez is not on the ballot this year. With 299 votes tallied, Bergthold is in the lead with 60%. Fiaccone has about 35% and Smith is at 6%.
City Council Place 2: Homemaker Jen Clark is challenging incumbent Travis Malone, who has served in the seat since 2022. Malone leads with 52% to Clark’s 47%.
City Council Place 4: Incumbent Javier Alvarez faces two challengers: consultant John Skier and former council member Stacey Lightfoot Morse.Skier leads with 53%, Alvarez clocks in with 25% and Lightfoot Morse has 22%.
SaginawMayor: Incumbent Mayor Todd Flippo is running against John Peet, an aerospace logistics engineer. So far, 521 votes have been counted in Saginaw. Flippo leads with 53% and Peet follows with about 47%.City Council Place 4: Brack St. Clair, controller at J&E Companies, is facing Jonathan Reames, former water superintendent for Saginaw Public Works, to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Randy Edwards, who was elected in 2023. The winner will serve the remainder of the term, until 2026. St. Clair leads with 65% to Reames’ 35%.
WataugaCity Council Place 1: Retiree Pat Shelbourne is competing against YangHui “Tira” Meyers, who is self-employed. Incumbent Arthur L. Miner is not seeking reelection. Shelbourne holds roughly 75% of the 247 early and absentee ballots. Meyers has 25%.City Council Place 2: Incumbent and manufacturing engineer Tom Snyder is running against banker Cris Blackburn. Blackburn has 54% compared to Snyder’s 46%.City Council Place 6: Incumbent and retiree Mark Taylor is facing Veronica Gomez, a physician assistant. Taylor holds 60% compared to Gomez’s 40%. Westworth VillageCity Council Place 2: Incumbent Michael Dingman, a data analyst, is facing challenger Imran “Immy” Khan, who owns The Lunch Box and The Black Rooster Bakery. Of the 156 early and absentee ballots cast, Khan had 56% of the vote and Dingman gathered 44%.City Council Place 3: Barclay “Teddy” Berdan II, a vice president of business development in the medical technology industry, is facing off against Sharon Schmitz, a finance director. Incumbent Brian Libbey is not seeking reelection. Berdan leads with 61% and Schmitz trails with 39%.
