Revenue for athletics at TCU is largely driven by football-related ventures, according to the university’s fiscal year 2023 operating budget. This includes television revenue and conference distributions.

The football team generated $71,767,270 in revenue. The men’s and women’s basketball teams generated $19,775,379 combined. 

The revenues of all sports, excluding football and basketball is $31,654,797.


During the 2022 season, the Horned Frogs were undefeated and reached the College Football Playoff National Championship. TCU played the University of Georgia Bulldogs and lost. The game marked TCU’s first national championship game since its inaugural appearance in 1938.
