Now accepting applications for Housing Task Force
(Special to The Dallas Examiner) – In April 2023, the city of Dallas passed its new housing policy, Dallas Housing Policy 2033. DHP33 was built around collaboration and incorporates equity strategy target areas and a city-wide strategy to develop and preserve affordable housing in Dallas.
Community engagement was essential to creating DHP33 and plays a key role in implementing the policy. As part of the community engagement strategy, the Housing Department is now recruiting for its Inclusive Housing Task Force.
Applications are being accepted for two opportunities:
- one for residents to join the selection committee
- one to join the Inclusive Housing Task Force itself
The Inclusive Housing Task Force will be representative of the population of Dallas and members will have a range of backgrounds and technical skills that include resident advocates, affordable housing financers, affordable housing developers, housing preservationist, and/or community housing advocates
The Inclusive Housing Task Force members will:
- discuss policies and programs offered by the Housing Department
- serve in a supportive role bridging communication between the Housing Department and residents
- serve a term of 1-3 years
- participate in quarterly meetings – an attendance rate of at least 50% is needed to remain in good standing
The Housing Task Force is a key implementation strategy for DHP33. We thank you for your support and interest in the policy. To apply or to learn more, please visit: bit.ly/DHP33.
Please share the opportunity with your networks. If you have additional questions, email hipp@dallas.gov.
