ARLINGTON, Texas — Four people were hurt in a shooting at Timberview High School in Arlington on Thursday morning, authorities said.

The suspect, a student, fled the scene and is at large, authorities said, adding that this was not a random act of violence. Officials indicated the student was involved in a fight and a drew a weapon.

Police identified the suspect as 18-year old Timothy George Simpkins, who may be driving a 2018 Silver Dodge Charger with license plate PFY-6260. Authorities said he should be considered armed and dangerous and urged anyone who spots him to call 911 immediately.

Two of the victims suffered gunshot wounds, police said. Three of the four victims were hospitalized.

Three victims were students and one was an adult who may have been a teacher, police said.

The “all clear” was given at the school following a lockdown. Students were escorted to another building to be reunited with their families, the Mansfield Independent School District said.

Federal ATF officials were at the scene.

The school has about 1,900 students and serves grades nine through 12.

Arlington is located between Fort Worth and Dallas.
