Author Tracey Brister-Pugh to Throw Virtual Party to Launch Second Book, The Adventures of Lil’ Tracey ‘Buster Finds a Home’
The Adventures of Lil’ Tracey early reader books always includes an adventure a life lesson and text easy enough for beginning reader to read. Buster Finds A Home explores Lil’ Tracey’s first experience with having a pet and follows the first book ‘Show N Tell’ and the hilarious lesson Lil’ Tracey learned in the classroom. Both books are available on amazon and sociallywize.com and will be featured in books by black authors in August on AABC.org
Fit for the times, considering the COVID-19 pandemic, the virtual party will give a chance for readers, parents and teachers alike to catch up with Tracey Pugh on how she created the highly-successful character, Little Tracey and get a chance to read along with the book.
The virtual meeting will also support the importance of reading this summer, when pandemic restrictions make it all the easier to reach out for mobile devices, that according to the author, may reduce creativity and social growth.
Tracey Brister-Pugh focuses on ‘Giving kids confidence, one social skill at a time’ and believes in structured social-skills training that instils confidence and emotional balance in kids and young adults. Her books supplement her objectives with vivid descriptions and imagery. They provide all the opportunities for young readers to develop social skills at their own pace in a very involving manner.
A parent and educator, Tracey founded sociallywize.com in 2018 because she felt that social-skill training was inadequate. As modern education is focused on grades and scores, they rarely provide young people the chance to develop themselves into emotionally-balanced individuals. Sociallywize.com was created to act as a platform to acquire and inspire social skills.
Says Tracey, “As we need to interact with others to be successful in this world, social skills need to be given as much effort as any other skill you deem important in your child’s life.”
Even parents need help to develop personal social skills. Her site, created in collaboration with educators, speech-language pathologists and parents, now provides coaching for children as well as parents to enhance their self-esteem. It also motivates young adults to develop social and emotional skills that help them maintain meaningful relationships and deal with challenges gracefully.
Tracey Pugh’s experience as a teacher at The Greenhill School in Dallas has helped her significantly in designing and publishing life-changing books such as ‘No Fuss Parenting’, ‘Lessons from Little Tracey’, Social Skills Tips Workbook’ and so on.
